Johnny Depp was getting ready for his job, slipping on a vest and picking up his hat and the cane that was his current character's pride and joy. He then moved on to hair and makeup, where they fussed over him for about an hour only for him to look the same as he did before. Sometimes it annoyed him, but he was a dedicated actor. He would do what it took to play his part. He'd spent sixteen weeks researching for this part!
He shook his bangs in his face, then flung them back as he slid his hat on, trying to get into the simple minded character of Sam. He did a few lame tricks with his cane to get in character, then continued to the set. He froze solid.
"What're you-" he walked over, looking extremely confuse but in general pleased to see his friend.
"Well, I thought I'd drop by-" Tim Burton replied, his hair all over the place as ever. Johnny raised an eyebrow.
"Tim, this is a FAMILY movie, no gore here," Johnny said seriously.
"Can't I just drop by? I was thinking about putting you in another movie," Tim said in his 'serious director' voice, which really wasn't all that serious.
"Security!" one of the camera men shouted. Johnny rushed over to stop them.
"No, it's okay, really. Tim's a friend of mine. He's cool," he rescued his buddy from security with a few careful words. "Now, are we going to test or what?" Johnny walked over to the chair where they were testing, and sat. He twirled his cane a few times. Before he knew it, his director friend was snapping at a few camera men for putting the lens on wrong.
"N-no, you're doing it wrong!" he corrected, showing the camera workers how to properly put a camera lens on. "B-besides, that one's gonna look horrible anyways-"
"Tim!" Johnny said in a sharp voice. Tim looked pouty.
"But it's true!" he complained. Johnny gave an exasperated sigh.
"Yes, but the longer you argue with them, the longer I have to sit here doing virtually nothing," the actor complained, using his hands for emphasis. Tim looked a little put out, but said nothing as they progressed with the shots. Meanwhile, Mr. Burton decided to go talk with the actual director of this film to see what it was about. He came back a moment later smirking.
"Wow, Johnny, I didn't know you played a retarded kid!" Tim laughed. Johnny scowled somewhat playfully.
"Screw you," Johnny laughed a little though, flipping Tim off. Tim checked his watch.
"Sorry, Johnny, gotta go," Tim muttered, looking rushed. Johnny smirked.
"Good riddance," Johnny teased. A confused looking camera-person looked from Tim to Johnny. She'd just come on a few moments ago.
"Do you two know each other?" she asked. Tim and Johnny glanced at each other, then replied in unison.
"Never seen him before in my life."

Just a short little oneshot about Tim visiting the set of Benny and Joon. Kind of explains the fact that in one of the special features has Depp flipping someone off off camera. Wrote it up in virtually five minutes.
