Ok so I know this has nothing to deal with my characters but this is a story I wrote and I just had to share so here we go.............................
Prologue
“Calling all passengers boarding flight 31 to New York. Boarding has begun for 1st Class.”
Riley looked up from her bag. All around her people were shuffling towards the big door near the terminal. Amongst them, she could see a spiky black haired guy lugging two bags to through the crowds.
Riley gulped. Tears welled up in her eyes. She couldn't do this...she just couldn't.
"Cody!" she yelled, standing up.
The tall boy turned around, and his face broke into a gorgeous, beaming smile. He dropped his bags and spread out his arms wide, and Riley ran towards him and leapt into his arms, burying herself in his chest.
"I'll miss you, Cody," she sobbed as he wrapped his arms around her. "I'll miss you so, so much,"
Cody hugged her tightly. "I'll miss you too, babe," he whispered, stroking her hair. "Never forget me, ok?"
She broke free and looked up at Cody, her best friend ever since they were babies. His handsome, serious face, his spiky black hair, his cold blue eyes, and she realized she loved him more than anything in the world. He meant so much to her...more than he'd ever know.
"Cody..." she croaked hoarsly, wrapping her small hand in his big strong one.
"Yeah?" he whispered.
"I...I...I think I love..."
Suddenly Cody smiled softly and brought a finger up to press against her lips gently. "Ssshh..." he whispered, and then moved his finger, leaned forward and kissed her gently on the lips.
Riley was bursting with happiness and surprise as he pulled away and grinned softly. "Yes?" he grinned.
"I love you," she said breathlessy, smiling up at him.
"Calling all passengers still to board flight 31 to New York. I repeat, flight 31 to New York. Last boardings have begun," the voice announced over the airport speakers.
Riley looked around and then looked back up at Cody, coming slightly closer. "Cody..."
"Look, I really need to go, Ri," Cody pulled away, looking flustered and annoyed. He picked up his suitcases and turned to the tunnel door.
Riley grabbed his arm, close to tears. "Cody, please don't leave. I love you..."
Cody tugged his arm free. "Me too. But I have to go. I'm going to miss my flight, Riley!" he sighed. "Just let me leave!"
Riley dropped his arm, shocked. He had NEVER spoken to her like this.
"Bye, Cody," she whispered underneath her breath, then stared at her only love parting through the crowds towards the big tunnel doors. A tear rolled down her cheek and suddenly she grabbed her jacket and turned away.
Sobbing, she ran and ran, feet pounding on the shiny polished floor of the airport terminal, slipping on her heels. She returned to her seat, grabbed her handbag but then collapsed on the bench, tears streaming down her cheeks. Frantically, breathlessly, she rummaged around in her pocket and pulled out a little present wrapped in gold paper and tied with ribbon. Cody's goodbye present. For a moment she felt like hurling against the wall but she began clawinng crazily at the wrapping paper, like a starved child greedy for food, until a little black box revealed itself.
Riley let out her last sobs as she opened it, pulled her present out and held it up to the light so it glinted.
A wedding ring.
so how did you like it. I usually share stories with friends so I thought this would be a great way to share it with you guys

heres the next part AURTHORS NOTE: Riley is now twenty-six years old. (Which is quite young.) She was sixteen in the prolouge, so it's ten years on and she has completley forgotton about what happened on that day in 2007. 2nd thing - this might be a bit boring, but the exiting bits are coming soon, so enjoy!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Riley was just applying the last layer of lipgloss on when there was a sharp knock on the door.
"Come on, Riley. You got two minutes!" Ricardo yelled from outside.
Riley screwed the lid back onto her lipgloss and rose from her chair. "Coming!" she sighed, picking up her guitar and tightening the lace on her top a bit before unlocking the door and stepping out of her dressing room.
Riley met the rest of her band members backstage, huddled together. As she approached, Jake looked up and spotted her, his worried face turning into relief.
"Thank God, Riley, you're finally here! We're on in less than one minute!" he cried, running a hand through his hair.
Jennifer gripped Riley's hand. "Sshh...I can hear Aiden Vanderworth...oh my God, we're on!"
Beyond the huge velvet curtains and the golden door, Riley could her the crowds cheering and screaming as the presenter, Aiden Vanderworth, announced the next performers.
"AND, THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR...LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE OPEN DOOR!"
Instantly more cheering, screaming and clapping rose up. Tyler, Jake, Riley and Jennifer scrambled to thier feet and stood in a row, clasping each others hands nervously as the curtains rose and the golden door slid open, majestic smoke whirling around them as they stepped out onto the silver stage.
"Good luck, guys," Tyler barely managed to whisper before the smoke died down, the lights dimmed and the music started.
Riley began to sing "Unforgiven," one of the songs they had first written together. The audience was silent - swaying from side to side, waving banners and signs spelling, "WE LOVE YOU RILEY!" and some sniffles.
Once Riley started to sing, she felt a huge rush of determination and victory surging through her. She grabbed the microphone, leaned forward and sang, soulfully and deeply, as the music turned up. The feeling was amazing. She closed her eyes and just sang, sang for the band, and for her parents. For the audience, and for the Music Championship Awards 2017 trophy, and for her fame.
When the song was over, the audience started again. They went crazy, jumping and screaming and dancing and yelling and cheering. Riley smiled and waved, tears of emotion in her eyes as she leaned back and let go of the microphone.
"All right...all right, thank you!" yelled Aiden Vanderworth as he shushed the crowds and made his way across the stage to Riley, Jennifer, Tyler and Jake, who were smiling as they hugged each other.
"Now...The Open Door. You've been here before, you're here again in the semi finals...tell me, how does it feel?"
He held the microphone out to Riley and she laughed breathlessly, her cheeks pink.
"It feels awesome. Really amazing," she smiled, exitement bubbling up inside her.
Aiden wrapped his arm around her and turned to face the judges. "Shall we see what the judges think? Karen - what did you make of this amazing performance?"
Karen Carlisle, the head judge of the panel, sipped her drink delicatley and spread a wonderfully manicured hand over the table.
"I thought you performance was wonderful. I mean - you had talent, you had emotion - you had it all! Spectacular!" she cried in her posh English accent, fluffing her red glossy hair. The audience rose up again, clapping and cheering.
"Now, Dermott. Your thoughts?" Aiden grinned, switching the microphone into his other hand.
Dermott Law flicked his gorgeous blonde hair out of his eyes and smiled his playful, lucious smile. He was the heartthrob of the celebrity world. Several of the young girls cheered as he began to speak.
"I gotta say, I love ya, guys. You show us what the MCA is all about. I definatley wanna see you again, here in the finals. I'm gonna make sure you win, you are totally awesome. And the're only one thing to say to Jennifer - dam.n, you're hot, baby!" he grinned, winking at Jennifer, who blushed and squeezed Riley's hand happily.
A laugh rippled through the crowd and Aiden turned to Dustin Blake, the last judge on the panel.
"Any last thoughts, Dustin?" he asked.
Dustin frowned and stroked his black goatee. The billionaire director was most famous for his wacky fashion styles. Today he had a sharp, pointy goatee, sideburns and round, oversized purple sunglasses perched on his hooked nose. He was dressed in a Hawiian-style tourist shirt with a white vest underneath and combat shorts, like it was the middle of summer.
He picked up his drink and took a long sip before setting it down. Riley took a deep breath. Dustin was well-known for his mood swings and sharp critisizm, and she could tell it wouldnt be good news.
"I think - I think in my opinion, you need to work on your drumming. I mean..."
He was suddenly cut off as the audience booed and spat, anger rising.
"No, listen, guys. Honestly, all I could hear during that performance was BANG, BANG, BANG. Literally!"
He waved his scrawny arms in the air, his eyebrows knitting together. "In my opinion, you're never gonna make it!" He banged a fist onto the table. "Never gonna make it!"
Riley pressed her lips together and breathed in deeply. Aiden turned back towards them, still plastering on his cheesy smile and clapping.
"Well, we'll see you for the finals in a few minutes! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE OPEN DOOR!"
The crowd roared up again, cheering and clapping as the golden door opened and the smoke billowed up again. Riley found herself shaking as she clasped her hands in Jake's and they walked off backstage as the velvet curtains fell.
Once backstage, they all let out thier breaths in relief and collasped into each others arms, congradulating each other. Jake swept Riley into his arms and kissed her and they all hugged, smiling.
Riley broke free first. "You think we'll make it?" she asked.
Tyler patted her on the back. "Sure we can. We'll just stay in there, and stay strong. You heard the audience - they loved us, Riley! And oh my gawd, you were amazing!"
Suddenly Ricardo came hurrying up to them. "Come on, come on, come on, people!" he cried, clapping his hands together hurriedly. "You're back on for the votings in -" he glanced at his watch "-twenty minutes, okay? Get a move on!"
Jennifer rolled her eyes. "Psshh. We've got plenty of time."
Ricardo gathered them all together and gave them a gentle push towards the backstage door. "Go!"
Sighing, Jennifer, Tyler, Jake and Riley picked up thier instruments and pushed thier way backstage.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - -
Riley pushed open the door of her dressing room and stepped inside, flopping onto the bean-bag sofa in the corner. She was absolutley exhausted. Taking part in the Music Championship Awards, or the MCA, had changed her life forever. She'd had a blast touring and performing with the rest of The Open Door band members. Jennifer, her best ever friend, with her spiky purple hair and peircings, Tyler, the sweet, funny one and Jake, her husband. It had been the best experience of her life, but also the most hectic.
She ran a hand through her golden waves and undone the clasp, sighing as her curls flowed down her back. She was just about to close her eyes, lean back and relax when there was a sharp knock on the door.
"You ready?" Jake called from inside.
She groaned and buried her head in her hands. "No..."
"Can I come in?"
Riley sighed and dragged herself off the bean-bag, stumbling over to the dressing room door to unlock it. Jake stepped in, holding out a white leaflet.
"I got you the programme for the next show," he explained, stepping in and closing the door behind him.
Riley leafed through it. "Oh no...we're first!"
He shrugged apologetically. "Yeah, well. You ready yet?"
Riley eyed her husband wearily. "Do I look like I'm ready?"
Jake took her arm and pushed her gently down into the dressing table chair. "Go on then, hurry up. Ricardo's been nagging me all day about how long you take to do your make-up. We're on in twelve minutes for the final votings!"
At that sentence, Riley gripped Jake's hand in fear. "What if we're out?" she croaked. "What if..."
He patted her comfortingly on the shoulder. "Don't worry, Riley. The audience loved us. I'm sure we're going to make it."
And with that tiny slither of reassurance he left her to worry by herself.

"And leaving tonight will be..."
The drumrolls sounded and spotlight danced around the four remaining contestants standing in a row as Aiden pulled out a silver card from a small golden envelope.
Riley gulped. She was praying he wouldn't say "The Open Door." She couldn't loose now. Not now, not ever.
Beside her, there were the three other contestents they were competing against. There was Purple Kiss the Calafornian rock band, Two-Way Mirror, the Christian choir group and Imogen Sanders, the French solo artist who had become the most popular in the celebrity world.
"And leaving tonight will be...Two-Way Mirror!"
Riley screamed and jumped up and down as Tyler, Jennifer and Jake squeezed her into a tight bear hug and danced from side to side in joy. They weren't going! They were still in the MCA!
Riley broke free from her friends and looked over at the Two-Way Mirror, who were wiping away brave tears and hugging each other. She gave the singer, Eve, a sad smile and then turned back to her band again.
"We did it guys!" she cheered over the roaring, whistling crowds.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - -- - -
"Seeya at vocal training tommorow, Jen?" Riley asked, quickly hugging her best friend close.
Jen hugged her back. "Sure."
"Seeya!" Tyler called behind them.
Jake fished out his car keys and took Riley's hand. "C'mon, let's go home."
With thier last waves, they walked past the security guards who were gaurding the backstage door and slipped out down the theatre alleyway.
"You look cold, Ri," Jake informed her as they hurried towards thier car.
She sniffed. "Maybe because I AM cold."
Jake laughed as they reached his black Mercedes. "Come on, get in. I can't wait to get home."
"Mmm, and have a good, long bath," mumbled Riley, sliding into the car as Jake stuck the key into the slot and backed out of the alleyway.
They rode home in silence and parked in front of thier huge family house. Immeadiatley thier famalies opened the door and greeted them inside into the warmth and cosiness.
Jake Rowlands family had always been family people, as well as Riley's, so they had decided to live together. All of them. Jake's grandparents lived there, as well as his dad and his two younger brothers. Riley's mum, her uncle and her two aunties had decided to live there as well, and bring the older one's Labrador Sammy too. So there was always plenty in the house. Twelve, including Jake's brother's turtle, Freddie Jr.
Immediatley the whole family crowded around them, fussing over them and asking questions. Sammy ran around thier feet, barking happily at thier arrival.
They sat around the fire, chatting and remembering the day's events.
But somewhere, somewhere deep down in Riley's heart, she had a nagging feeling about something. Like she'd forgotton something, or left something unfinished.
"Ri? Hey, Riley, you alright?"
Riley snapped out of her doubts and looked up at Jake's grandfather. "Sorry?"
"Are you feelin' okay?" he wheezed, leaning forward slowly in his chair.
Riley smiled politely. "I'm fine, thanks, Pete," she said, and then joined the noisy conversation.
