Barrel automatically tightened his grip on Brianna, but otherwise remained still. Like I said, he was a deep sleeper. Nothing short of something exploding in his face could wake him up if you wanted him up.
Sally giggled with delight, wrapping her arms around Zero in a tight hug. She then decided that she wanted to explore some more. It took her a few minutes, but she finally figured out how to stand up on her own without dropping Zero. Lock froze. "You wouldn't..." he gasped, yellow eyes wide with terror. She wouldn't DARE break his precious plunger! Or would she? "You'd better not."

It took a few minutes, but the nightmare slowly went away, and she started forgetting that she'd ever had one. Now she wasn't dreaming at all. It was just dark and quiet.
Zero panted happily, quite content where he was. Besides, he seemed to know what happened, even without Jack telling him. He and Jack seemed to have this special connection. Zero could almost tell exactly what Jack was thinking at any given moment. Jack stayed close in case she should loose her balance. He just wanted to make sure she didn't fall over and hurt herself or something. "Or what? Why shouldn't I?" Shock shot back, tail lashing furiously.

Barrel, however, didn't loosen his grip at all. He felt no need to. Besides, it was nice having something to hang on to while he slept.
Sally wandered around, walking through the graveyard. She peered curiously at the tombstones, but gave up on trying to figure out what those strange markings (aka words XD) on them were. She absentmindedly pet Zero as she grew tired of the graveyard and all the tombstones, now wandering towards town. "Shock! Don't!" He didn't know what he'd do, but he wouldn't be very happy. Who knows? He might start a mini-war between the two of them and try to drag others into it as well and try to get them against Shock. Or he might simply be upset. You never know with Lock.

Laura woke not long after, feeling a little more rested than Barrel would after the same amount of time cause she wasn't running around the whole time. She got up and wondered where to go. Just as she rounded a corner, she ran into a completely healed Skyheart.(Probably his sister's doing.) Brianna stayed snuggled where she was, not that she had a choice or was even conscious at the moment. She shivered slightly as a chill wind blew through.
Zero panted contentedly as he was pet. Jack followed Sally, her ever-present shadow. He smiled. At least she didn't seem to be hurt. Sure, she didn't remember everything, but what did that matter? "Fine," Shock muttered as she wandered over to the long-disused chute leading down to Oogie's lair. "Go and get it then." And, thus, she threw it down.

Barrel, even though he was used to the air being a little chilly, found the wind cold. He himself shivered, snuggling even closer to Brianna to try to keep warm. He'd been dead for a while, it was a little difficult for him to make his own body heat.
Once she stepped into town, the fountain was the first thing to catch her eye. What was that thing? What was coming out of it? She sped up a little and walked over, leaning over the edge of the fountain and peering curiously at the green water, then yelped as she lost her balance and fell facefirst into the water. Of course, once that happened, she let go of Zero. Lock's eyes widened even more. He didn't want to go down there! Besides the fact that he didn't have the greatest night vision, he didn't trust what might be down there. Oogie might not be there, but his traps still lay around. And maybe other villains took over. And it didn't help that many of his bad memories involved that lair. Trying not to show how scared he was to go down the chute, Lock walked over, shooting Shock a glare. "That was NOT COOL," he snapped before climbing into the chute.

Brianna was a little warmer, simply because her own body heat was partially trapped by Barrel's grip. Her shivering calmed, though now and then she still shook in the chill air that she had still not grown used to. "Sk-skyheart! I-I'm sorry about earlier! I mean, he didn't mean to, I mean-" Skyheart held up a hand to silence Laura, then pulling her into a hug. "Shh, I know werewolves have no control. I just wish you had told me," Skyheart whispered to her.
Jack rushed forward as Zero let out a series of loud barks. He pulled her out of the water, looking slightly panicky. Jack was much too protective. "Are you okay?" he found himself asking again. Shock narrowed her eyes. "Laughing at me was NOT COOL," she shot back angrily, turning her back on him, tail flicking furiously.

It was much colder this year than in previous years. Whoever claimed there was global warming had obviously not visited Halloween Town recently. Barrel continued to shiver. Even though he wore long sleeves and pants, he ran around barefoot. And the cloth wasn't exactly that warm.
Sally shivered a little from the chill in the air, clinging to Jack. "Okay," she agreed with a small nod. She hoped that was a good answer. She was fine, just a little cold, and quite wet from the fountain. Lock scowled, muttering various insults under his breath as he slid down the chute, landing and feeling around for the plunger. "Come ON! It has to be around here somewhere!" he said, a little frustrated when he didn't find it immediately.

Brianna was a little worse off, because she was wearing a dress, and no matter how long the skirt or sleeves were, a dress is a dress, and she shuddered as more cold wind blew around her. Her legs curled up inside the skirt of her dress and she wrapped her arms around her knees, trying to stop her shivering.
Jack frowned seriously. "We need to get you inside somewhere to warm up. C'mon, we'll go back to my house." He took Sally's hand, leading the way towards his tall, tall house. Shock decided she wanted to go watch Lock struggle. So she clambered down the chute and dropped in, but was almost immediately regretting the decision. She couldn't see hardly an inch in front of her.

Barrel woke up, blinking for a moment as he gazed around. What was he doing in the Hint- oh. He remembered why he was there. Full moon the night before. He shifted slightly, then glanced down at Brianna. "Come on, let's get you someplace warm, shall we?" he said softly, realizing she must be cold. He knew he was, anyway. "Come on." He let go of the girl long enough to stand up stiffly, and then bent down to pick her up.
Sally followed Jack, examining the house as they walked nearer. A tall house for a tall creature. Made sense to her. Lock let out a loud string of curses as he slammed into some hard surface. It was probably a trap because, well, this WAS Oogie's lair. And he hadn't even found his plunger yet. He mentally cursed at Shock; if he did it out loud, she'd probably just laugh at him or something.

Brianna continued to shiver, eyes cracking open sleepily. She was tired, and she was cold. Not a good combination. She didn't want to get up because then it'd probably be colder, but if she stayed where she was, she'd stay cold. Not to mention the ground wasn't very comfortable.
Jack led the way carefully up the stairs, then opened the door for her politely. Zero zoomed in first, going to his basket. He was tired, and he was going to take a nap. He rested his head on the side of his little basket, eyes closing and his body-area rising and falling as he breathed deeply. Shock also had to refrain from cursing aloud. She couldn't see a thing, and she was scared to move should she walk into a trap. But she was more scared of the complete and utter darkness. Who knew what lurked there? Suddenly, throwing the plunger down there didn't seem like such a good plan.

Barrel hesitated for a moment, then pulled off his shirt and offered it to Brianna. That might help her stay a little warmer. He hoped it would. He'd rather freeze himself than see someone else freezing. "Want to go into town and find someplace warm?" he asked her softly. He'd have offered to take her to the treehouse, but that place had so many holes in the roof and walls it wouldn't have been much warmer than the air out here.
It took Sally a few moments to get up the stairs without tripping. Once at the top, she stopped and glanced at Jack, then curiously peered inside the house, wandering in. Lock could be heard grumbling "I'm SO gonna kill her when I find the plunger and get outta here." He was not happy about this, you could tell.

Brianna nodded, wrapping his shirt around her. It was warmer that way because, since he was larger than her, she could wrap it around herself and have a double layer of clothing keeping her warm. Didn't change the fact she was wearing a dress, and the skirt was making her cold, but she didn't say anything. She just scrambled to her feet obediently, having no other way out of the forest than to follow Barrel.
Jack followed Sally in, and went to find something to warm her up and dry her off. He would only be gone a moment. Zero glanced up sleepily from his basket, then curled back up. "You're gonna kill WHO?" Shock snapped at the darkness, tail flicking incessantly. You could say she was a LITTLE touchy. Just a little.

"Now, where would it be wa- Town Hall," Barrel said, answering himself. "Um... follow me." Now that he was slightly more rested, he should be able to find his way out of the Hinterlands. he began walking, trying to hide his violent shivering. He found that he liked warmer temperatures, probably because his original mode of death had been much warmer than those who died in a different way.
Sally walked over to Zero's basket and sat down next to it, gently petting the ghost dog while trying not to disturb him. One could tell that she liked Zero. Lock 'eep'-ed. "Nobody!" he said quickly, mentally cursing. He hadn't realized Shock had come down there! If he had known that, he wouldn't have said that.

Brianna nodded again, and followed Barrel. Another gust made her shiver again. Since she was the only living citizen of Halloween Town, she found the chill in the air somewhat unpleasant. She turned her head towards motion towards her right. "Barrel! There you are!" Laura wandered into sight, Skyheart following at a distance. "You'll be happy to hear Skyheart didn't get hurt too badly last night!" she said it forcefully, ordering him not to be a jerk without saying it. Though Laura went right up to him, Skyheart kept his distance. He couldn't help it.
Zero sighed a little. That felt good. He loved to be pet. Especially when Jack always seemed too busy to stop for a moment to pay attention to him. Jack came back a moment later and wrapped a blanket around Sally's shoulders. "You feeling alright?" he asked, looking concerned. "That's what I thought," Shock snapped, looking around for a sign of light to find her way out of there.

Barrel blinked. "What are you talking about?" he asked, a little confused. He didn't remember the events of the previous night. If he had, he would've run over to Skyheart and apologized over and over again while bowing down in front of him, his usual way of apologizing. Even though he was told multiple times to not do that, it was old habit. Besides, you never knew when Oogie would return.
Sally turned to Jack, flashing him a wide smile. This creature- she didn't even know his name or why he was so concerned about her- was nice. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug and then turned her attention back to Zero. Lock shuddered. He hated it when Shock used that tone of voice. It meant he'd better watch it OR ELSE. He didn't even know what the "or else" might possibly be, but he didn't want to find out. With Shock, it was most likely going to be something nasty.
